UNILORIN Unveils Plan to Introduce Dentistry, Medical Laboratory, and Radiography
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Sulyman Age Abdulkareem, has unveiled the anticipation of the University to introduce Dentistry, Medical Laboratory, and Radiography as part of offered undergraduate programmes.
This previson to introduce Dentistry and other two new health like courses was contained in the institution’s bulletin released on 18th February 2019.
He said that the University is considering the commencement of other health care related disciplines such as Dentistry, Medical Laboratory, and Radiography, banking on its possibility over improvement of the institution’s resources.
The Vice-Chancellor however appealed that the admission quota of the institution’s MB, BS programme be raised by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) from its current 150 to 250 in the coming 2019/2020 academic session.
He asserted that a consideration of the upward review of the admission quota will bestow the University fresh challenges which will also help beef up the poor patient-doctor ratio in the country.
If UNILORIN eventually Introduce Dentistry, Medical Laboratory, and Radiography, it Will be a commendable One.
