On a hill top not far from the palace, Grace sat somberly staring into thin air as she had many things to think about. The hill top was well known for its beauty and quietnesss. People often went there to clear their thoughts. Grace, taking a break from her day’s job, had to get her head straight. She had thought that any place near the palace wouldn’t do her much help, so she chose the hill top.

Sitting on the floor with her hands between her thighs, she kept thinking. The conversation between the king and the princess had struck her hard and she was beginning to think about the whole thing critically. Then, she remembered the words of the princess “The brothel is really a place meant for you”. The words kept echoing in her head as she swiftly got up as though she was ready to fight head on with the princess immediately.

As soon as she got up and turned to leave, she saw Miracle standing behind her. She became startled as she did not notice his presence before then. “Oh my God!…you startled me. How long have you been standing here?” she asked. “Emm…maybe ten minutes..” he replied. They both smiled and sat down. “So where were you off to in such a hurry?” he asked. Grace was reluctant to speak as her countenance changed. “I know about your parents. I know all that happened to you… the pit.. the king…all of it. And I know quite well that you were about to do something silly” Miracle said as he held Grace’s hand.

“How did you know?” Grace asked in a soft voice. “A little bit of investigation” Miracle said with a half smile. After the drama with the drunk princess, he became bothered about Grace. Going through the market place, he overheard two guards who were seated in a shop, eating and talking about the princess’s threat to kill their families if they refused to reveal the king’s secrets to her.

Hearing that, Miracle became curious. As soon as he became more interested in their conversation, they decided to stop talking as they were afraid someone might hear them.
Miracle moved closer to them. He smiled with them and offered to buy them wine, feigning harmless friendship with them. He laughed and chatted with them and made sure they were carried away with the chat and wine.

They kept drinking the wine as it was an expensive and fine wine. Soon, they became drunk that they could not hold themselves any longer. He took hold of the opportunity to question them.

As he was asking them series of questions, they freely told him all even beyond what he asked them.
The men told him that the pit which was also a passage to a brothel which was a very secret place that no one knew about in the palace except the two of them and the king.

The special guards who were sent to massacre Grace’s family also were not aware of the pit. Miracle was awestricken. Having heard all to his satisfaction, he left the guards as he became uncontrollably worried about Grace.

He hurried to the palace and to Grace’s quarters, but didn’t find her. Then, he remembered what Grace once told him about the hill top. Grace told him that the hill top was best for clearing one’s thoughts and that she loved going there whenever she had overwhelming worries. He decided to go there and therefore met her there.

“Don’t do anything irrational, Grace…”he said. “Wow…so you know about all …these?” Grace said, sobbing. Miracle embraced her, calming her down. “You need to get your head straight if you want to scale through all these… I’m always here for you” he said caressing her head with his hand.
