OAU Matriculates 6,650 Students in 2018 compared to 8,158 in 2017
The authorities of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, have made a revelation that it matriculated a total number of 6,650 students admitted into its undergraduate programme for the 2018/2019 session.
The Vice Chancellor of the prestigious institution, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede, made this revelation to the general populace during the matriculation of the new students into the institution.
However, the number of matriculated students for the 2018/2019 session is relatively lower compared to the number of matriculated students for the 2017/2018 session.
While speaking at the 2018/2019 academic session matriculation ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor in his speech reaffirmed that the institution of learning does not tolerate violence, examination malpractices, cultism and notorious disobedience to the institution management.
He also counselled the fresh students to refrain from all sorts of vices and deplorable behaviours that could puncture their academic careers and lead to forfeiture of their studentship.
He also mentioned that all hands are on deck to increase students’ accommodation by 10,000 additional bed spaces.
