The authorities of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have disclosed that it is likely engage on another strike due to the non commitment of the Federal Government.

On Wednesday, 22nd May, 2019, the ASUU management urged the general public not to hold its members responsible if it goes on another strike but should hold the Federal Government accountable for the disruption in the university system with its noncommittal attitude to the carrying out of the 2019 Memorandum of Action.

Prof Biodun Ogunyemi, the National President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) highlighted that the Federal Government had already approved the N25billion for the Universities.

He noted that this was not done and the Federal Government has not been very responsive with the signed memorandum of action knowing well that the revitalisation of public universities has been a top priority to ASUU.
